Overview


MetalGO’s decision to redesign was a strategic move to address an outdated Visual Identity and User Experience (UX). The core goal of this redesign was to strengthen brand perception, build user trust, and deliver a more intuitive, modern, and visually compelling digital gold ecosystem that aligns with the company's technological innovations. In my role as Webmaster, I am responsible for the entire design process, from user research to visual implementation.

Problem Statement

  • Navigation Complexity: Users frequently struggled to find important information or specific investment features. This was due to an unintuitive navigation structure and scattered information, leading to high user friction and potential drop-off.

  • Low Visual Consistency: Significant visual inconsistencies were present across various touchpoints, weakening the brand identity and creating a non-cohesive experience. Furthermore, the old look lacked visual appeal and failed to stand out amidst competing digital platforms.

  • Outdated UX/Visual Identity: The existing design no longer reflected MetalGO's progressive vision and innovative spirit. This outdated appearance was a contributing factor to higher bounce rates and shorter session times, as users lacked immediate confidence in the platform's modernity.

Research


I analyzed leading investment platforms and digital gold ecosystems to identify UI/UX best practices, current visual trends, and effective communication strategies. Key finding: successful competitors utilize cleaner, more minimalist, and interactive designs that prioritize transparency and legal clarity.

Based on analytic data, I identified that users' highest priorities were quickly verifying Legal Compliance (BAPPEBTI) and accessing the Download App button. The primary target audience for this project consists of first-time digital gold investors and young professionals who prioritize security, ease of use, and a modern, trustworthy website appearance.

Ideate


I designed a dedicated feature section utilizing clean, scannable iconography, allowing users to understand MetalGO's core advantages (safe, easy, trustworthy) within seconds. The ATF section was designed to build instant trust. This was achieved by clearly communicating the unique value proposition ("Aplikasi Nabung Emas Fisik Digital Yang Gak Bikin Deg-Degan") alongside social proof (1K+ Users) and official legal compliance (BAPPEBTI).

Every element was designed with a mobile-first approach in mind to ensure a seamless and consistent user experience regardless of screen size.

I executed the v3 mockup with high detail. The use of dynamic 3D illustrations, combined with a clean, grid-based layout, provides a professional, innovative, and user-friendly feel. Typography was selected for optimal readability across desktop and mobile devices.

Reflection


For the reflection of this project, This redesign is projected to result in a significant increase in MetalGO's brand trust perception. Metrics-wise, we aim for an increase in the Conversion Rate to app downloads by 90% and a reduction in the Bounce Rate due to the more relevant and engaging homepage experience. I was excited to learn how attractive design can directly influence user perception and behavior. The biggest challenge was balancing modern aesthetics with the need for concise and accurate information, but I managed to overcome it through repetition and continuous feedback.
